About Qory

Behind every creative project, there is always someone carefully guiding each step, allowing it to grow with intention and curiosity.
At Qory, that person is me.

My name is Rocío Villarroel. I’m originally from Argentina, of Inca descent, and I’ve been living in Christchurch for the past two and a half years. I work as a seamstress and consider myself an artist in my own way. Qory is my creative space — where emotions, ideas, and personal expression come together through handmade pieces.

Qory is inspired by a woman who is free, confident, and deeply connected to herself. A woman who embraces her sensuality rather than hiding it, enjoying her body and her individuality. Each design is created to reflect that spirit: versatile, authentic pieces made to adapt to each woman’s personal style.

All Qory bikinis are designed and handmade by me, with a thoughtful and intentional process — from fabric selection and prints to construction and finishing details. Over time, Qory will also expand into lingerie, corsetry, and women’s sleepwear, always maintaining the same artisanal approach.

Qory means “gold” in Quechua- an Inca dialect. The name is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, where broken pieces are repaired with gold, becoming more valuable because of their story.
Every Qory piece is born from time, intention, and the mark of the handmade.
Because what carries history carries soul — and every detail tells a part of who you are.
